NORDSCHLEIFE
NLS - "GREEN HELL" AT ITS BEST
In 2025, I also joined the NLS (Nürburgring Endurance Series) as a rookie – the next logical step after my previous three RCN races on the Nordschleife. For the very first time in a GT4, I went straight into full race action and drove my first NLS race, and that in a Porsche Cayman GT4, as used in the NLS Cup 3 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy, in GT4 Germany, in GT4 European Series and in the Porsche Sports Cup.

During free practice on the test day before the six-hour NLS 6 race, I was able to quickly adapt to what was for me a new and more powerful car than I had ever driven before, and I was already driving at high pace and close to the car's limit - achieving quite impressive lap times. After the race, I ranked as the second-fastest Porsche Cayman GT4 Permit-B driver – behind Robert de Haan and Alessio Ghiretti, both 2025 Porsche Super Cup and Carrera Cup champions. They were obviously also working on their Permit A that weekend.

STRONG PERFORMANCEMy teammate Thorsten Lingnau (with whom I shared the car in the race) and I could have even won our class in the NLS 6 race with our performance that day. But there were two significantly more powerful cars in front of us, and since SP7 is a mixed class and NLS doesn't have its own Permit B class, we didn't achieve the result (podium) that our performance actually deserved. Measured by our pace and taking our engine power into account, we were the true winners of our class. – But regardless, the race was a fantastic experience and a lot of fun.

MY BEST RACING EXPERIENCE SO FAR
As a rookie in both a GT4 race car and an NLS race in the “GREEN HELL", I was able to show once again that I could drive very fast, consistently and safely even with minimal preparation and under very demanding conditions.

In the end, I drove a total of 22 NLS laps (Nordschleife + GP short connection), equivalent of 550 km and 3 1/2 hours, in this wonderful race car over the two days. The cool AsBest racing team – with team boss Alex and his son, the car chief – was exemplary in every way. This also applies to the other drivers in the team. I felt comfortable and well supported throughout the entire NLS 6 (test day and race day).
My working tool: Porsche Cayman GT4 CS Competition, 3.8-liter six-cylinder mid-engine with 425 HP, 6-speed PDK transmission with paddle shifters, KW Cup racing suspension, Porsche 911 GT3 R steering wheel, limited-slip differential, 250 and 270 Michelin slicks, roll cage, racing seat with 3-point racing harnesses, automatic fire extinguishing system, unladen weight 1350 kg
